The Civil and Defence Housing Society Lahore was established in 1973 and later renamed the Lahore Cantonment Co-Operative Housing Society (LCCHS), which was registered with the Punjab Government in March 1975. Subsequently, in 1999, this society transformed into the Defence Housing Authority Lahore (DHA Lahore) through a Provincial Ordinance. The DHA housing authority Lahore was federalized in 2002, a status that was confirmed by Parliament in 2004.
